Why Do I Like Fashion Photography...? Ask Mario Testino!

I know I know, most of my work is musicians and performances. I get it. So why all the posts on inspirational fashion photographers huh? Well to be honest, it's my secret ultimate goal to be a high fashion photographer which is not so secret anymore if your reading this post... But hey, we all got our dreams and what not. I just love the aesthetic. The bold colors, the symmetrical lines and oh the women of course! But it's tough grueling work. The precision bar is set to such a high bar that it can sometimes border on being anal...slightly.

That's why I love Mario Testino's work. So precise, classic and yet ranges all branches in fashion. Not afraid to break any boundaries be it simply beautiful and soft or brash and sexy. Looking at most of his work from magazines and online, it's all so top notch. Perfect lighting for any mood and amazing work from his subjects and models. And from watching interviews and documentaries, the man still knows how to let loose and have a good time. A real charismatic dude!

We all have something to say and our unique voice is very important in anything we do and looking at Mario's work has pushed my limits as a photographer to never rest to long on my past successes. So I'm making a declaration right here and now, my standard to be at least on par with his work. First technically and then my own personal style through the years of course. And believe me it's one hell of a challenge!

But apart from him being such a great photographer, it's also the lifestyle that seems to attract me as well. Who wouldn't want to be around some of the biggest stars in the world for at least one day in their lives? No shame in wanting to live large! But always back it up with a genuine personality because getting to that level of fame and recognition is no easy task. It takes years of dedication to your craft to reach.

So Mario, your the ultimate! One day with enough practice and time we'll meet and I'll tell you a funny story on me writing this silly blog post and praising you big time. Until then I'll be perfecting my craft and loving the process!

KEEP SNAPPIN'
